Bill Schlesinger and Lisa Dellwo retired to a remote coastal fishing village in Maine after spending most of their careers in an increasingly overcrowded Triangle region of North Carolina. This book is an explanation to friends and colleagues of why they chose to move to rural Maine, what they have discovered there, and how they live their days.

Adventures in Contentment offers a fun and insightful look at their new environs, and is an informal, loving account of the quirks of the region as well as a deep dive into the natural beauty found in abundance in their new locale.

Bill started watching birds as a teenager, and went on to a career in environmental science at Duke University and the Cary Institute, before retiring to Lubec in 2014. Lisa is a former publishing professional and freelance copywriter who spends her time sketching, painting, gardening, and paying close attention to the plants and critters around her.
