This fine press chapbook celebrates the 25th anniversary of the band’s debut album Trace (which coincidentally came out the same year we started H&B Press). In a challenging covid inflected year (and counting) where we couldn’t go out and gather to see live music, it was a treat to put something into the world that celebrates the power of music and a rather special album/moment in time.

In addition to song lyrics, this keepsake includes notes from Jay Farrar on the songs, as well as multiple original artworks by Phil Blank, and a personal foreword by Jason Isbell.

The 32 page book is printed in full color on heavyweight, uncoated text paper. The limited edition of 1,500 copies was published at the end of 2020 and features covers printed on a hand-fed, hand-cranked letterpress here at the H&B studio. The hand-sewn bindings help create a rich, tactile artifact as intimate and imbued with emotion as the songs themselves. A printed bookmark completes the package.

7 x 10 inches. $40. Only a few dozen copies remain. Later this spring we will be auctioning off two of Phil’s original artworks with 100% of the funds being donated to the Cats Cradle. Here’s to seeing live music venues survive and move to thriving.
